1. Gen
- 骚扰、威胁、跟踪、霸凌任何人,或发表仇恨、歧视的内容;
- 发布色情内容,或在局里、私信里进行性骚扰、索要性服务;任何性接触都必须双方明确同意;
- 发布、索要或传播任何涉及未成年人的性内容,或以任何方式性剥削、诱骗未成年人。我们对此零容忍:会立即封号,并向警方和加拿大的 Cybertip.ca 报告;
- 组织或参与违法活动,包括毒品、赌博、武器,以及让未满法定年龄的人喝酒;
- 鼓励自残、自杀或危险行为;
- 诈骗、索要转账、发布虚假的局或找搭子,或冒充他人;
- 用 Gen 打广告、卖东西、拉人头或搞商业推广;
- 未经同意拍摄、录音,或公开别人的个人信息(包括局的详细地址);
- 用小号、互刷或其他方式刷 aura、评价或到场记录;故意发假举报;
10. aura、
Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and looksmap, Inc., who runs Gen (“we”, “us”). By using Gen you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy and the community rules below. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Gen.
1. What Gen is
Gen helps you find and join small in-person meetups (“linkups”) hosted by other users, host your own, post asks for company (找搭子) and chat with the people going. We only provide the platform: we don’t organise, host, supervise or attend any linkup, we don’t check venues, hosts are not our employees or agents, and we are not a party to anything users arrange between themselves. Gen is currently free, and we may add, change or stop features at any time.
2. Who can use Gen
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.
- You have not been convicted of a violent or sexual offence, and you are not required to register as a sex offender.
- You are not barred from using Gen by law, and we have not removed an account of yours before. If we have, you may not create a new one.
- Drinking linkups are only for people 19 or older. Follow the venue’s rules and the law when you go.
3. Your account
- One account per person. Every account verifies a phone number that you use yourself, and each number can have only one account; after an account is deleted, its number can’t sign up again for 30 days.
- Your date of birth and gender must be true and can’t be changed by you later. Your nickname, photos and bio must be you.
- Don’t lend, sell or transfer your account. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us right away if someone else is using it.
4. Meeting in person, and the risks
We don’t run background checks. We don’t verify anyone’s identity, age, gender or history, and we don’t check criminal records. Phone verification only stops people from making several accounts; it doesn’t confirm who someone is. Aura, attendance, no-show and late records, host reviews and the like come from what users do and say. They are not our recommendation or guarantee.
You are responsible for your own safety. Meeting people you don’t know carries risk. Meet somewhere public the first time, send the linkup’s address to a friend before you go, don’t send money to strangers in advance, and leave whenever you’re uncomfortable. Many linkups are sports and outdoor activities (ball games, hiking, skiing, climbing, water sports and so on) that carry a real risk of injury; check your own health, gear and the weather first, and know your limits. Drink responsibly and never drive after drinking. You take part in any linkup voluntarily and accept the risks that come with it.
Safety features are not an emergency service. Trip sharing, emergency contacts and SOS can help, but they aren’t monitored around the clock and we can’t guarantee a response time. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
5. Hosting a linkup
- Describe the activity, place, time, group size and cost honestly, and don’t add charges you didn’t mention.
- You are responsible for your linkup: follow the venue’s rules, make any bookings or get any permits it needs, and tell everyone in the app as early as you can if anything changes or you cancel.
- A linkup is a get-together, not a business: no service fees, ticket sales, product pitches or recruiting.
- You can set an age range and how people join, but you must not turn people away because of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability or another characteristic protected by law (women-only linkups are allowed).
6. Money at a linkup
Gen doesn’t charge you and never handles money. A price in the app is what the host expects it to cost; people at a linkup settle up among themselves. We don’t process payments or give refunds, and we aren’t responsible for money disputes between users. Don’t send money in advance to people you don’t know, and report anyone who asks you to.
7. Community rules
On Gen and at linkups, you must not:
- harass, threaten, stalk or bully anyone, or post hateful or discriminatory content;
- post sexual content, or sexually harass or solicit anyone at a linkup or in messages; any sexual contact requires clear consent from everyone involved;
- post, request or share any sexual content involving minors, or sexually exploit or groom a minor in any way. We have zero tolerance for this: we remove the account immediately and report it to the police and to Canada’s Cybertip.ca;
- organise or take part in anything illegal, including drugs, gambling, weapons, or drinking by anyone under the legal age;
- encourage self-harm, suicide or dangerous behaviour;
- scam people, ask for money transfers, post fake linkups or asks, or impersonate anyone;
- use Gen to advertise, sell, recruit or promote a business;
- photograph or record people without their consent, or share anyone’s personal information (including a linkup’s exact address);
- inflate aura, reviews or attendance with extra accounts, swaps or any other trick, or make reports you know are false;
- access Gen with scripts, scrapers or other automated means, reverse-engineer it, or interfere with how it runs.
If you say you’ll come, show up; if you can’t, leave early or free your spot when Gen asks “还来吗”. Hosts can record no-shows, and the count appears on your profile.
8. Moderation
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can report or block anyone from their profile card. We act on reports within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks these terms and remove the users who post it or behave abusively.
We also review content automatically. Abuse, slurs, sexual solicitation, drugs and scams in names, bios, linkups, 动态 and asks can’t be posted, and in chat they’re replaced with *. The text of linkups, 动态 and asks is also checked by an AI model, and photos are checked automatically for sexual and violent content (see the Privacy Policy). Automated review can make mistakes: anything unclear may be hidden until someone on our team looks at it.
We may warn you, hide or remove content, limit features, or suspend or permanently remove accounts, with or without notice. We aren’t obliged to review everything and aren’t responsible for what users post. When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety, we may preserve information and share it with the police.
9. Your content
The linkups, asks, posts, photos, reviews and messages you share stay yours. You give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive permission to store, display, deliver and reformat them (for example, compressing photos or making share cards and link previews) to run, improve and introduce Gen. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for what others have already seen or saved, copies still in backups as the Privacy Policy describes, and anything we must keep by law. Only share content you have the right to share; you are responsible for what you post. Other people’s content is for viewing in Gen, not for taking elsewhere.
10. Aura, records and reviews
Aura, titles, tiers, streaks, attendance and no-show records and host reviews are social records inside Gen. They have no money value and can’t be transferred or exchanged. If we find them faked or inflated, we may adjust or remove them.
11. Our rights
Gen’s name, logo, design and software belong to us. We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable licence to use Gen under these terms. Beyond that, you may not copy, modify, sell or build other works from Gen.
12. Feedback
We’d love your ideas. We may use any suggestion you send us freely, without paying you or crediting you.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Gen infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@genapp.ca with the work, where the content is in Gen, how to reach you, and why you are entitled to complain. We handle notices under Canada’s Copyright Act.
14. Third-party services
Gen relies on third-party services such as sign-in (Google, Apple), maps and place search (OpenStreetMap, Google) and directions (Google Maps, Apple Maps). Their own terms apply when you use them, and we aren’t responsible for them.
15. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from 我 → 注销账号. We may suspend or remove your account if you break these terms, put other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Sections 4, 6, 9 (for permissions already given), 10, 11, 12 and 16 to 21 survive after your account ends.
16. Disclaimers
Gen is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we don’t promise that Gen will always be available, error-free or secure, we make no promise about the truthfulness, quality or safety of any user, linkup, venue or content, and we are not responsible for what users do online or in person.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss (including lost profits, data or goodwill), or for loss caused by any conduct, linkup, arrangement or payment between users or between a user and anyone else; and our total liability to you for everything is limited to CA$100.
18. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, if someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms, because of content you posted, or because of what you did at a linkup, you agree to cover our resulting losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees.
19. Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, email us first at support@genapp.ca, and we’ll try to sort it out together within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute we can’t resolve goes to the courts in Toronto, Ontario, and small claims can go to Small Claims Court.
20. App stores
If you downloaded Gen from the Apple App Store or Google Play: these terms are between you and us. Apple and Google are not parties to them and are not responsible for Gen, its content, maintenance, support or warranty, or for handling any claim relating to Gen (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims); we are, as these terms set out. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for Gen. You must also follow the app store’s usage rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
21. General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the safety tips in the app are the whole agreement between you and us about Gen.
- If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right, we haven’t given it up.
- You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to whoever runs Gen after us.
- We aren’t responsible for delays or outages caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters or network and provider failures.
- We’ll send notices to you through notifications or announcements in the app.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that can’t be excluded or limited, such as consumer rights; where those apply, the limits above apply only as far as the law allows.
22. Changes
If these terms change materially, we will update the date here and tell you in the app beforehand. Continuing to use Gen after a change means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can delete your account at any time.
These terms are published in Chinese and English with the same content; if they differ, the English version applies.
